Man Utd given clear Amad exit demand as 'transfer agreement' reached

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has passionately urged his old club to keep Amad Diallo happy, following reports that a transfer deal is being ironed out for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo.

The Bees' winger has reportedly agreed to a move to Old Trafford, with discussions still underway to finalise the fee. Man Utd's initial offer stands at £45million, with an additional £10m in performance-related bonuses; however, Brentford are holding out for £60m for their star man.

With pressure from former manager Thomas Frank and rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who also boast the lure of Champions League football, it is anticipated that Mbeumo will complete the switch in due course.

With Matheus Cunha already secured by United for a hefty fee of £62.5m, he is expected to become crucial in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 formation as one of two attacking midfielders.

Mbeumo's expertise lies on the opposite wing, potentially leading Amad into a permanent role as Amorim's first-choice right-wing-back, raising concerns about the young talent's contentment in this position.

Despite the apparent upgrade that Cunha and Mbeumo might bring, Saha has categorically stated United must not let Amad grow discontented.

"Nooo! No! No! If there are one or two players who should not leave, it is him ad Bruno Fernandes," Saha passionately told the Daily Express with BetSelect.

"He is the kind of player who does not care where he plays. He has said it himself; he will play as a left-back or centre-back - he will just play."

Saha didn't hold back when turning his attention to Amad's attacking teammates, criticising their attitude in stark contrast to the Ivorian youngster. "Some other players will say, 'I want to play there' or 'I should be playing [in] this [position]'", he added.

"Those players should shut up. Why? Because the result that we had last year is ridiculous. If you've got 20 goals, you can ask those things, maybe. But none of those players have scored more than 15 goals, and they're asking for things. It’s crazy."

Amorim is busy revamping United's attack after giving the green light to the departures of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho.

Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund's future hangs in the balance after a woeful tally of just four Premier League goals last season, though he's keen to battle for his spot at the club.
