Roy Keane blasts Man United after Europa League defeat by Tottenham
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has laid into his former side after their Europa League defeat by Tottenham on Thursday night.
The Red Devils were beaten 1-0 after a Brennan Johnson touch sent the ball agonisingly beyond Andre Onana late on in the first half, and United couldn't find the important equaliser.
As a result, it is Tottenham who end their 17-year wait for a trophy and United who limp back to England with their tails between their legs.
'Just when you think things can't get any worse for Man United. It's been the story all year,' blasted Keane.
'They've been getting out of jail with European football and it's been covering the huge cracks at Man United. All season they have been so easy to beat.
'They got lucky a few times in Europe and then tonight again, ultimately it's not good enough. They didn't show enough quality. Not enough options off the bench.
'If you're depending on Harry Maguire to get you out of jail you're in trouble.'
The Red Devils were unable to find a response in a game that distinctly lacked in quality, and failed to have a single shot on target until a Luke Shaw header in the dying moments of the encounter.
