Stop Pretending You’re Tough,Kinzinger Calls Trump’s Bluff

 Rep. Adam Kinzinger

Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger recently claimed he is prepared to counter any legal actions that President Donald Trump may pursue against him concerning the House Select Committee's investigation into the January 6 Capitol riots. Kinzinger stated that if the Justice Department brings any charges against him or other committee members, he will prevail in court. Kinzinger also addressed Trump’s claim that the pardons granted by former President Joe Biden to committee members were “VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER EFFECT.”

Kinzinger stated, “Well first off, I’m trying to figure out what he’s trying to distract from, because that’s what all this is always a distraction to try to get people’s attention. Or maybe he hasn’t felt like he’s gotten enough attention."

So you know, we had an election. I fought against Donald Trump. I wanted Kamala Harris to win. January 6 was a big thing, but America made a different choice. Fine. I’m ready to move on. I’m like, look, we made it very clear what happened on January 6. America made a decision.”

Kinzinger noted that he did not request a pardon, and Trump’s focus on the January 6 events has revealed an obsession. He suggested that Trump feels guilty and is deflecting attention away from his own accountability.

There is one person that’s obsessed about the 6th because he still has been basically deemed guilty in the court of public opinion, and that’s Donald Trump. And he can’t handle it. He obsesses about it. So my reaction to him is like, you know what? Then bring it. Stop talking about it. Stop being all verbose. Stop pretending like you’re tough. Bring the charges then if you really want to do it because we will crush you in court. It’s like, bring it on. Like, honestly."

Kinzinger urged Trump to move beyond rhetoric and bring any legal charges forward. He criticized Trump’s controversial statements as distractions from more pressing issues.

Bring the charges then if you really want to do it because we will crush you in court and it’ll make me three times more effective against you. Look, honestly Jake I’m ready to move on too but if he wants to keep bringing it up, bring it up or be quiet.”

Kinzinger and fellow committee member Liz Cheney have become frequent targets of Trump’s criticism. Kinzinger said, “He’s more obsessed with me and Liz Cheney than his frickin' golf score." He added, "Hey Trump, bring it on dude! You weak, whiny, tiny man, who—by the way, I saw a photo of you this weekend, you’re hiking up your pants to just below your man boobs and you’re sweating so much like, uh, looking pretty bad there—but bring it, man!”
